Mrs. Ginger Rae Leppin, age 66 of Pine River Wi. died early Sunday morning September 3, 2006 at her home in the Township of Leon.  Ginger was born June 29, 1940 in Hancock, Wi the daughter of Edward and Dora Fay Novak.  She married Arthur “Art” Leppin February 14, 1959 at First Lutheran Church in Poy Sippi.  Art survives. 

     Ginger was raised in the Pine River – Poy Sippi area, and had lived in the Pine River area for most her life.

     She had been employed at Realist in Berlin for a number of years, at Alborn’s in Lohrville as a bartender, and at Klak’s Grocery and Johnson’s Grocery and Bar, both of Lohrville.  She had worked at Hill’s Campsite at Pearl Lake, and had milked cows for Adrian and Bessie Laude, rural Redgranite.  Ginger had also been employed at Mosier’s Closeouts in Redgranite.  She was the head of the Township of Leon Election Board for many years.  Ginger was a volunteer worker for Terror Trail, since its opening in 2004.  She loved working her “booth” and loved to see all the people and workers of the trail.

     Ginger was an excellent shot with both rifle and pistol.  She enjoyed working in her garden and the woods.  She loved wildflowers, Cardinals, fishing and visiting the casinos up north with her sister Sharron.  Most of all, Ginger loved her family and grandkids.

     Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Art: a son, Edward “Corky” (Estella) Leppin of Lohrville; 2 sisters, Sharron (Norman) Clark of Hurley, and Gayle (Darol) Obarski of Wautoma; her grandchildren, Michelle (Rusty) Gimenez of Lohrville, Eddie Leppin of Lohrville, Samantha (Fred Buhrow) Leppin of Lohrville; and 4 great-grandchildren, Dante, Jessie, Jr., Hope, and Nicholas.  Ginger is also survived by her mother-in-law, Myrtle Leppin of Berlin; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Donald (Betty) Leppin of Berlin, Rose (DeWayne) Jensen of Waukesha, Harvey (Arlene) Leppin of Fairwater, Shirley Geffroy of Pine River, Nancy (Terry) Thomas and Linda (Warren) Jahns, both of Fond Du Lac, and Kathy (Mike) Chamberlin of Redgranite.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

     Preceding Ginger in death were her parents, a daughter, Susan Leone, a granddaughter, Maria Leppin, a brother Edward Novak, who died in infancy, 2 brothers-in-law, Ervin and Herbert Leppin, and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Leppin.

     Ginger was laid to rest in the Poy Sippi Cemetery, Poy Sippi Wisconsin. 

     Ginger will be sadly missed by all her family, friends, and co-workers from Terror Trail.  We don’t know how we will survive without her, but we know she will always be around.
